I could never bear to watch boxing.
So I don't think age is SOFTENING you, I think it's making you turn female.

Yea i get all that. I just felt sad that not much thought was given to the geezer getting battered. But saying that i suppose a crowd of beered up blokes (and a few doris's) arnt going to be to bothered as long as their man is winning.
Yup i'm getting old and soft.

There’s a video doing the rounds of Whyte and Chisora chilling out on a sofa together, after the fight. No malice towards each other whatsoever. Boxers know what to expect and Refs are quick to stop any severe beatings taking place.
What does sicken me though, is seeing videos of people getting attacked, and that has definitely increased as I’ve got older.

You gotta have a good ref who can see when someone's getting punished, and step in

I wouldn't say it's an age thing. It's not nice seeing someone get badly hurt but, with boxing or any other fighting sport, people know what they're signing-up to.
It's likely that they'll get badly hurt themselves one day in the ring and they're aware of that.

Well put it this way, if you still celebrate a goal being scored with exactly the same enthusiasm that you did when you were 20 in your mid forties I think you have not lived a productive life, or you like some Charlie on a match day. Your meant to slow down age does that, it's why I don't look at my wife the way I used to, like a steak and chips, she is now a piece of boiled cod and new potato's which I enjoy but not nearly as much as steak and chips.
